*Friday 26 August: 18.30 launch INTERFACE in Hastings & St Leonards, the former bathing pool site, West St Leonards. In a 20 foot shipping container, Dunkerque based artist Émilien Leroy will give a 20 minute sound/body performance. 'Feromil – Symphonie pour Ferrailleurs/Symphony for scrap metal merchants' transforms a metal detector into a musical instrument creating an unpredictable soundscape oscillating between enchantment and apocalypse.
*Saturday 27 August: 12.00-16.00 - Seaside Film Trailer, the promenade adjacent to the former bathing pool site, West St Leonards and each following weekend through Sunday 18 September Located within a shipping container, refurbished to house a cinema for the screening of artists' films. Each weekend's films will be programmed by an invited artist, curator or organisation, so expect 8 hugely divergent afternoons of the best artists' films from the last 40 years. All screenings are free, and as space is limited, watch for listings and come early to avoid disappointment.
*Saturday 10 September: 12.00-16.00 the promenade adjacent to the former bathing pool site, West St Leonards, 'Here and There – Hidden Stories', three short films created by learning disabled young people from Glyne Gap School, Bexhill; St Mary's College, Bexhill and Autism Sussex, Hastings. The theme of the films is 'heritage' in its broadest sense, whether that is geographical – place or biographical – self. This screening of 'Here and There – Hidden Stories' is included in 'Opening Spaces, Going Places', the Hastings & St Leonards Heritage Open Days 8-11 September 2011. Peter Downsbrough's films ] AND HERE (2007) and inter[ POSE (2009) will also be screened.
*Sunday 11 September 12.00 - 16.00 on the promenade adjacent to the former bathing pool site, West St Leonards. Johan Grimponprez Dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y (1997) An unofficial chronicle of world-wide aeroplane hijacking screened courtesy of the artist and Argos, Bruxelles.
*Saturday 17 September: 19.30-21.30 the old lifeguard station, lower promenade, St Leonards, 'Pieces to Fit' curated and performed by Marina Tsartsara with Soline Pillet, Silvia Battista, Sophia Campeau-Ferman and Art in Motion. A site-specific live installation where performance is treated and presented as visual art, with the ephemeral of the live body as a necessary layer to the work. A free event.
*Thursday 22 September: 18.00-21.00 The Reading Room, 12 Claremont, Artists' talks: Cécile Colle}{Ralf Nuhn, Chloe Brooks, Bob and Roberta Smith. The artists' talk is followed is followed by the launch of Claremont Studios CIC celebrating a fully refurbished basement project space and a new direction in programming.
